Paul Ryan Lovefest on Hannity and Beck
I anticipated Monday’s radio and Fox News evening talk shows wanting to see how the Republican talking heads would react to Mitt Romney’s choice for running mate, Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan.
On Sean Hannity’s television show Monday evening it turned out to be just as I expected–a total love fest. So-called small government conservatives Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Hugh Hewitt, Frank Luntz, et al gushed over Mr. Ryan as if he is the answer for a Romney victory. He very well may be what puts Romney in the White House.
However, after an excruciating full 60 minutes of watching this drivel on Hannity, this band on “conservatives” that espouse small government, decreased spending and the rule of law that is the Constitution not once mentioned Ryan’s very questionable voting record.
Ryan voted for a plethora of big government spending programs and bills that take away our liberties during the Bush era that certainly contributed to the state of our nation today.
But it was never brought up….not once!
While at work today, I spent a painful 30 minutes listening to Glenn Beck’s radio show where Beck praised Ryan over and over even saying, and I paraphrase, that Ryan is the best conservative choice, even better that Rick Santorum! To put Beck’s judgement in perspective, he once said Santorum was the next George Washington!
However, right about the point I couldn’t take it anymore, Beck did finally say he’d like to question Ryan’s votes for TARP and the Patriot Act.
Nothing from Hannity and his guests. I guess Ryan’s voting record is not important enough to discuss and debate. He does have an “R” after his name after all…. that’s all that matters.
That’s 60 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.
