Actress Ellen Barkin wanted to be clear, retweets desires for hurricane Isaac to hit RNC
On Sunday, actress Ellen Barkin retweeted a message that called for Tropical Storm Isaac to “[w]ash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean,” Twitchy reported Monday.
The Twitchy staff added that “[a]fter a handful of Twitter users called her out, Barkin responded by lashing out at … Twitchy.”
“For better or worse, that was not my original tweet.A retweet. But Twitchy liked it better their way, (sic)” she wrote.
As Twitchy notes, a “re-tweet” is not necessarily an endorsement of the original message.
“But Barkin didn’t give any indication that she disagreed with the revolting sentiment when she retweeted it to her followers,” Twitchy added.
“How did you come to think this way?” one person asked Barkin. “You are a star on Twitchy because you tweets are so bizarre!! What exactly do you want?”
Barkin, the 58-year-old actress who appears in “The New Normal,” a new NBC series about a gay couple who wants to have a baby using a surrogate, caused controversy in July when she issued profane tweets expressing hatred for conservatives.
“I love everybody,..except u right wing f**kin morons, (sic)” she tweeted.
Earlier in August, Twitchy reported that Barkin claimed voter ID “bulls**t going on now will kill us all.”
