The screen fades in on an Adolf Hitler quote, followed by a brief overview of conspiracy theories from JFK and ending with 9/11.

This is what passes for a “documentary” in the Michael Moore inspired film landscape as director Dylan Avery takes the audience on a journey to connect the dots and see George W. Bush as Hitler and his administration as Nazis.

Made in 2009, Avery misleads viewers by implying the Truther Movement is a large contingent, a voice unheard and ignored. Just as the Birther Movement proves to be nothing more than a distraction from the action of the Obama administration, the Truthers echo distracting outrage over a page in history which has already been turned – right or wrong.

Sadly, there is little credibility in this documentary with the citation of “evidence” coming from the recently ousted Egyptian dictator Mubarak and series of references to “the Jews did it.”

The first step in becoming a Truther is to exonerate Osama bin Laden, acquit al-Qaeda in 9/11 and minimize the threats of Islamic extremists.

While the Bush administration and many on the right in politics speak only in hyperbole of the Muslim threats against America justifying spending  $1 trillion on the ‘War on Terror’, Avery proves to be another naïve Truther giving a pardon to bin Laden and the highjackers.

The film wanders “Loosely” trying to connect dots of emails and military war games to actually assert America committed genocide against its own people. Based on the assertions of “Loose Change” we should indict Tom Clancy for an airplane crash in one of his novels which killed every one at the Capitol building.

Like Michael Moore we get the Andrew Card’s whisper to President Bush misrepresented with kiddy music in the background. Monday morning quarterbacking and “over analysis” leave the viewer exhausted rather than convinced.

I felt like asking: If a missile hit the Pentagon, where did the plane go? How did the powerlines get knocked down?

I must confess, I may have nodded off at one point or another during 1 ½ hours trying to shake off the jet lag feeling of the film.

For example, I was wondering why the Truthers expect the government, the FBI more specifically, to reveal all of the security measures, defenses and details of the air support during 9/11?

So move over JFK, you aren’t the only one the government took out, because according the film the overweight Barry Jennings didn’t die of heart disease, but was part of the cover-up of Building 7.

President Obama does make a quick cameo, but only as “a puppet to a tyrant power greater than any one man” – Bush is shown again or one administration (back to Obama).

I wish I recommend this film on any level other than learning what Truther’s believe. Only the “we didn’t walk on the moon” people seem more disconnected from accepting reality.
