Marvel teases X-Men fans with ‘Gambit’ project

Marvel Comics has released a teaser for a new Gambit title, but offered no insight or details.

The image simply shows the X-Man’s name in purple across a black background, with the date August 2012.

The comic book giant promised to make an announcement regarding the project at the C2E2 Comics and Entertainment Expo next weekend.

Gambit was first introduced by legendary X-Men writer Chris Claremont in 1990. Remy LeBeau, his alter ego, has the ability to manipulate kinetic energy and utilizes his skills at throwing cards transforming them into weapons.

He has been a mainstay of the team since then, and has featured in various spinoffs and adaptations including the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine in which he was portrayed by Taylor Kitsch (John Carter, Friday Night Lights).
