Romney win in Michigan exaggerated: delegates split with Santorum
“A Home Run for Romney” reads the headlines in the local paper, but that’s hardly the truth in Michigan.
The former Mass Gov only won his home state by 3 points and will split the delegates with Santorum.
The Michigan presidential primary vote was close and so will be the distribution of delegates based on the results in Michigan’s 14 congressional districts. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won the popular vote by a 41-38% margin as well as the tally in seven of 14 congressional districts, most of them in southern Michigan. – Reports the Detroit Press
Similar to the Iowa win for Santorum, this is a quiet victory for the former Senator.
“A month ago, they didn’t know who we are, but they do now,” Santorum said, calling it “an absolutely great night.” “The people of Michigan looked into the hearts of the candidates, and all I have to say is ‘I love you back.’ ”
Romney does have the lead with 163 delegates with Santorum some distance behind at 83 – Super Tuesday is right around the corner. (Source: WSJ)
The media and talking heads still seem to pronounce this race as done, Romney has won and that is 100% FALSE!!!
