Jeff Bridges joins Ryan Reynolds for ‘R.I.P.D’ film


Yesterday reports were sent out confirming that Jeff Bridges (“True Grit”, “Tron: Legacy”) will indeed join Ryan Reynolds in the adaptation of the Dark Horse comic book. Director Robert Schwentke is now aiming to start production in September.

The dead detectives, “R.I.P.D.” is set to start filming in Boston this September and Jeff Bridges will play Roy Powell, a veteran of the “Rest In Peace Detectives” who are tasked with keeping the dead in line. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as a newly dead detective, Nick Cruz, hellbent on solving his own murder.

The comic book adaptation was written by Phil Hay and matt Mandfredi.

Reynolds comes to theaters June 17 as Green Lantern and is confirmed to return as the assassin from “Wolverine” – Deadpool.
