John Chambers and the Save America Foundation
As we look ahead to the Save America Convention in March, Executive Director John Chambers broke away for a brief interview with DOB’s Brandon Jones.
The Save America Foundation (SAF) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit civic organization. SAF is nonpartisan and encourages political involvement and activism.1 This organization is sponsoring a convention (March 18 -20 at the Marriott Waterside in Tampa) with the focus on the three pillars of SAF: education, unification and implementation.
“Our goal is to provide education towards a common cause of protecting freedom. Whether it’s the Tea Party or any freedom minded group, we want to come together to get educated. We (SAF) have a Constitutional Judge, a Sheriff (Sheriff Mack), a Yale lawyer (Stewart Rhodes), Mark Cross from Campaign for Liberty and a former governor (Gary Johnson)”, Chambers explained.
The Save America Foundation (SAF) mission statement1 clearly points to their goal: “(SAF)…is intent on seeing the U.S. Constitution upheld by our elected officials. The foundation informs and educates the public through free Public Forums and through the SAF Online Education Center. The foundation is holding large scale nationwide conventions, establishing charter offices across the country.”
While a similar movement formed the Campaign For Liberty, Chambers wanted to be clear that “SAF was not formed, nor is affiliated with any candidate or political party.” He admits that there is common ground with the C4L, especially the efforts to audit the Fed and fight for freedom.
One of the biggest struggles that Chambers is seeing is the “post election apathy and attendance reflects that. Many people feel the battle was won in the last election cycle and now folks are looking for something to do as they are still worried.”
When asked, Chambers was quick to describe what most Americans are worrying about: “the economy, the currency collapse, the debt crisis and the erosion of civil liberties.” Republicans or Democrats, Chambers was clear that these problem pre-date this administration and will be a struggle to fix.
So how are things going to get fixed?
John Chambers is a man of action and has found a voice in the Tampa Bay area with a radio show on WGUL 860 am on Saturdays from 2-4 pm. “It’s called ‘Freedom: It’s Up to Us” and we discuss the news behind the news. We’ve interviewed everyone from Mark Cross, Eddie Adams, Marco Rubio, Alex Snitker and Ron Paul. I want to delve into the real issues and problems of today.” Two examples Chambers gave were global governance and deterioration of the dollar.
JMC Productions has this perfect synopsis to summarize the message from Chambers: “Financial systems and currencies around the world are in trouble. Politics and power seem to be more important than solutions. Our elected leaders appear unprepared or incapable of leading this nation. America-this is your wake up call.”
“Tea Party members are getting well informed”, Chambers says, “They just don’t know what to do. That’s where the Save America Foundation comes in.”
