Just a Little Effort-Sierra Jones

Reading b-TWEEN the Lines

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7 (NIV)

This verse isn’t saying you can have anything you want if you ask for it. It isn’t saying that at all.

It is saying that if you want something you have to search for it. And if you search for it, you will (most likely) get it.

For example, a lot of people don’t have a job. There are also a lot of people complaining about how they don’t have a job, but they aren’t looking for a job. They someone to just give them one. It doesn’t work that way. God said so in this verse. You have to look for chances, and once you start looking and trusting on Jesus, you may get a job.

Another example would be a test. You really want to pass your test, but you don’t study. You can’t remember that much information without going over it. You probably won’t do very well. But if you study and try and research, you will do better than you thought.

All I want you to remember from this is to get something, you have to search and ask. You can’t get something if you don’t ask for it. You can’t find something if you don’t look for it. And no one will open the door, if you don’t knock.
