Google Street View captures dead body in Rio de Janeiro and some other things elsewhere

One may remember an incident last month when Google Street View photographed a girl lying in the street in England, and it was soon revealed that the “dead” girl was in fact just a prank. The girl was then, 9 year-old Azura Beebeejaun from Middle Road, St John’s, Worcester, who turned out to be a happy and healthy little girl just playing a prank.

Google Street View has recently added Antarctica, Brazil and Ireland to its list of streets mapped. Strangely, what has turned up recently on Google Street View is a very controversial photo of a dead body on Avenida

Presidente Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The photo has recently been pulled due to complaints, so it has been very difficult obtaining a copy. Consulted by the G1, Google said that the image will be removed or distorted, so that the body does not become evident. As a warning this photo is pretty graphic and while it is not overtly clear, it is obvious what is lying on the street. To see the photo, click here, but you have been warned.

While dead bodies are in a category of their own, there are some other odd things that have been caught by the Street View team that are worth the look. For instance, check out this photo of two kids fighting.

One kid punches another kid and it was caught on Google Street View

Or you can appreciate the streets of Paris and this man’s taste in a beautiful vinyl woman.

Some people seem to have memory problems and need a little note (or many in this case) to remind them to pick up a gallon of milk. This photo was from a neighborhood in Tampa, Florida.

How about a flying saucer parked in a backyard in Covington, Kentucky. It’s a prefabricated Futuro House  designed by architect Matti Suuronen.

Another controversial photo was one of this poor deer that was hit by the Street View car. Google has doctored the image but we have found a copy of it  here.

Even though taking down the images is something that good taste would surely dictate, doesn’t assaulting our unsuspecting eyeballs with gory spy-cam photos then, as if it had never happened, clearing the evidence from all their records, make it even more creepy, in a way, even ghastly? Which is to wonder, if Google, the most popular portal to accessing all the world’s knowledge, is hiding the mounting evidence of their, well, creepiness from us… isn’t the next logical step to ask what else they may be hiding, albeit more successfully?
