Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame: Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper nominated; Rush and KISS snubbed
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced the artists nominated for induction at the 26th Annual Induction Ceremony in 2011.
This year’s nominees are Alice Cooper, Beastie Boys, Bon Jovi, Chic, Neil Diamond, Donovan, Dr. John, J. Geils Band, LL Cool J, Darlene Love, Laura Nyro, Donna Summer, Joe Tex, Tom Waits and Chuck Willis.
The foundation sent out ballots to more than 500 voters.
The winners will be announced in December and inducted into the Hall of Fame in March 2011.
To be eligible for nomination, an act must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination; that’s no later than 1985 for the current nominees.
“We believe our nominating committee has put forth a list of artists that truly represent the wide variety of music that defines rock and roll,” said Joel Peresman, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.
Those chosen for induction will be represented in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland.
The nonprofit organization exists to educate visitors about the impact of rock and roll.

yeah dude, this is f***ed what is the point of the Hall if you consider Alice Cooper more worthy than KISS and Tom Waits more worthy than Rush
A lot of fans agree with you, that is for certain. I was never a big fan of any of these acts, so I don’t personally care. Alice Cooper vs Kiss — they really got this wrong IMO
They let in Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond and Tom Waits and RUSH AND KISS are not in – f***ing ridiculous
First who cares? The HOF is a frigging complete joke. Look at half of the one’s that got in already AHEAD of Kiss. That alone should tell you it’s a joke. Secondly, The latest version of Kiss sucks ass. It’s a half a tribute band. They should have called it quits after the last “farewell” tour.

The problem with that is that not recognizing RUSH as a success is harmful to the industry. If record companies decided to find a great act and support them for 20 years instead of just the next 12 months, the quality of music would improve.
Rush is one of the most talented, pure bands around. These guys are fantastic musicians. Screw the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

How in the hell is Rush not in the RRHOF? That piece of s*** has ZERO credibility…not that it ever had any to begin with…we’re talking about RUSH for crying out loud…2112, Grace Under Pressure, Moving Pictures, etc…and they sound better than ever…next time they come to Red Rocks I will be there…
