Class on Constitution, Founders Baffles Washington Post writer

I was briskly scanning through a Washington Post article Conservative class on Founding Fathers’ answers to current woes gains popularity – “Nothing here” I thought, then I found the author’s motivation: perpetuate leftist bias and stigmas.

Let’s review a few with my comments in bold:

  • Participants include members of “9.12″ groups inspired by conservative commentator Glenn Beck, Republicans, home-school groups and people affiliated with militias. Militias?
  • Except for one man, all of them were white. Most were middle-aged, and there was nary a Democrat to be found. Of course they are all angry, racist White Republicans
  • His session here had the feel of a church Bible study. He spoke of the Founders as divinely guided secular saints… Compared to what?
  • …avoided what he called “negative stuff” about the Founders…Jefferson have focused on research asserting that he fathered children of Sally Hemings (linking to a story supporting the claim) More evidence and book by William G. Hyland Jr. support Randolph NOT Thomas was the father
  • noted Truther and New World Order supporters trying to sell DVD’s and CD’s How many normal folks were in attendance?

Seemingly typical criticisms from the left and the ongoing effort to stereotype the Constitutionalists, the Tea Party members and others with all of the racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic labels. Persistence results in being called a “kook”, lumped in with Birthers, Truthers, 2012 supporters or any group speaking out against the government.

In this case, the conclusion after discussing historical debates over the Constitution was the following:

Today, reverence for the Constitution and the Founding Fathers is an important part of the militia movement.

I’ve witnessed this exact response and feedback as I ( and we on DOB) speak out against the Big Government Machine and our desire for a regressive approach back to the basics – the Constitution.

I’m not taking this class or anyone like it. Maybe it’s like a church, advocates religion or supports groups like Truthers, but they have the right to do so.

Wonder why it so hard to understand support for the Founders and the origins of America while the “other side” never questions Bill Ayers, ACORN, the several czars linked to socialism or other government officials for their anti-America speech/rhetoric.

It’s a shame only democrats excite skepticism and outrage in these people.

I used to listen to those Bill O’Reilly broadcasts and read conservativeunderground.com. I’m glad Reddit delivers too. Sad morons who are completely divorced from reality and the correct use of the English language.

    Srsly:

“Bill Ayers, ACORN, several czars linked to socialism”

What does he have in the space between his ears?
