Grammy winning Slipknot bassist found dead

The bassist for the metal band Slipknot was found dead in his hotel room in Urbandale, Iowa. The drummer, 38 year old Paul Dedrick Gray, was a founding member of Slipknot and originally hailed from Los Angeles.

Paul Gray was known as #2 or “The Pig” and was part of the bands Grammy Award winning song “Before I Forget.”

Paul had fallen victim to drug problems and was arrested for possession of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in 2003.

He is survived by his wife Brenna whom was expecting their first child.

An autopsy is being scheduled for Tuesday

On a personal note: Slipknot is one of the best bands that ever played, and I had the privilege to see them live a few years ago. Paul, you will be missed.
